Press Release - January 23, 2009

There is a new doggie daycare in Oak Creek that wants to change the way you think about daycares and change your dog's total daycare experience.  Fido Fitness is located at 9823 S. 13th Street (inside Paws-itivly Behaved K9s) and it is the first of its kind that offers one-on-one personal attention to your dog. Think of Fido Fitness as your dog's own "Personal Trainer".  At Fido Fitness they know that the secret to a well-balanced dog is on that gets both physical and mental "workouts" along with play and socialization.

Fido Fitness is the brainchild of Paws-itivly Behaved K9s, owner and Director of Training, Tiffany Gutman.  "Since 2003, Pawsitivly Behaved K9s has been teaching students the importance that both physical and mental exercise has on their dogs' overall well being.  Not only is a dog that is physically tired and mentally tired a happier dog, it is also a happier and more manageable household for their family" says Tiffany.  In June of 2008, Paws-itivly Behaved K9s decided to put into practice what they preach and offered a one-of-a-kind doggie daycare.  "Whether it's a puppy class or adult class, our first class always stresses the importance of getting our dogs outside and walked.  Even in the unpredictable Wisconsin weather, our dogs have a primal need to be walked.  Many times, I would have students come up to me and say they couldn't walk their dogs due to the weather, busy schedules, etc. and a lot of times, there were also the dogs that were coming through our doors because of behavioral issues.  I soon realized there were a lot of dogs out there not getting the exercise they needed and Fido Fitness was born" says Tiffany.  A day at Fido Fitness is structured much like our own.  There is time for work (walks, treadmill training, obedience training) and then time for play (small group socialization and playtime).  Fido Fitness understands that it is usually the dogs who are not a candidate for doggie daycare that need the service the most.  Due to the limited number of dogs we take in per day, we can give even the most challenging dogs a good workout and slowly work on supervised socialization over a period of time.
